• Güliz Günes and Asya presented “Intonational correlates of event plausibility,” and Gemma, Laura, Gerhard Jäger, and Asya presented their poster “Do Children Always Need Theory of Mind to Understand Irony? The Role of Common Ground” at XPrag 2026

• Asya presented a poster with the new results of the implicit causality project, and Gemma and Laura shared their work on perspective taking at AMLaP 2026 in Saarbrücken.

August

• Ivan, Güliz Günes, and Asya presented “Effect of surprisal on the form and prosody of referring expressions” at the CORE Project Workshop, ESSLLI 2026.

June

• Asya gave a keynote presentation at the retreat of the TAM cluster, titled “Looking ahead, looking back: Prediction and inference in language understanding”.

• Asya and Jasmin presented their poster “Conflict-Sensitive Communication: How German and American Speakers Navigate Controversial Topics” at the Workshop Modeling Common Ground Across Divides. The poster was co-authored with Martin Butz and Dirk Wildgruber (all University of Tübingen).

• Rosario Tomasello (FU Berlin) visited the lab and gave a talk at the Cognitive Science Colloquium. Gemma and Laura discussed their ideas about irony understanding and what kind of neural networks it involves.

• Paula Rubio-Fernández (MPI Nijmegen & CNRS) visited the lab. We discussed our projects on irony and a new project on prosodic annotation of the Monsters data.
